My car will crank but will not start. Have spark compression and I smell gas on the fuel rail? What could it be?

Without really testing fuel pressure and scanning for codes it is hard to say you should have 41-47 psi on fuel rail with key on auto parts rent gauge and then take paper clip and cross A&B on scanner hookup on left hand side of dash bottom turn key on and count flashes to get a code if there is one. Code 12 is normal. https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-fuel-system-pressure-and-regulator
