Just so I am clear, you replaced the PCM for some other issue and now the car won't start but that was not the issue prior to the replacement? Meaning the car would start and now it does not?

If that is the case, did you perform the PCM replacement procedure with the scan tool? In other words you need to program the tool and transfer what is called the secret key info so that the PCM recognizes the key and starts the vehicle.

Was this a new PCM or used? Let me know this info and we can go from there. Thanks

Yes, that is correct I replaced the PCM which I think was new because it was a plug n play device that I ordered and they used my vin number to program the PCM. Also, the car was able to start before I replaced the PCM.

Okay. I would contact that company back and tell them you plugged it in and it is not starting now. If you have the old PCM, you should be able to plug that one back in and the vehicle should start again. Clearly you are going to have the issue you had with that one but at least you confirm it is able to start. So when plugging in that new PCM it will not start so it is an issue with it.

The company says it is a re-manufactured but is tested. Do you think it could be my anti-theft system? If so how can I by pass it?

Okay. That's what I thought. Even though it is re manufactured it still needs to be programmed. So you are pretty much correct that this is the anti theft system. There is no way to bypass it because this system was designed to disable the vehicle if not programmed.

I was wondering how they were able to program this to your vehicle without being connected to the vehicle but all they did was put your VIN in the module but that does not complete the process. Basically the PCM needs to have what is called the secret key programmed into it. Unfortunately the only way to do this is to have a scan tool capable of doing this perform the attached functions.
