Yes sir but I have already tested them they all tested similar to every coil, so this is what I did, after work I went to the junkyard borrowed a ECM because I didn't have no codes or anything plugged it in, check engine light, most I have seen it do since I bought the car, okay so I thought I am going to try to start it, it cranked for a second then it supered liked it caught then stopped, but now I have codes, but don't know, eager to hear back from you.

Codes it gave me:
P1850
P1287
P1432
P1433
P1117
P1425
P0106
P0238

Again, used ECM also was off the same make and module and year just it was a manual and mine is an auto.

Hi,

I checked two manuals, and half the codes aren't listed for this vehicle. There is a transmission code and air injection code, but I don't feel that would cause what you are experiencing.

By chance, are you getting spark now?

Alright I have spark tested with jumper cable negative on battery negative on sparkplug while plugged into spark plug wire. So, I need a new ECM, right?

Hi,

Do you have spark? You didn't mention if you did or not.

Also, I have attached the powertrain management wiring schematics below. I highlighted fuses I need you to confirm for me. Interestingly, if you don't have power to the ignition coils (red wire), it could be a fuse or the fuel pump relay. And, for the coil to get power, there is a fuse related to the fuel pump that may be bad and stopping power before it gets to the fuse for the pump.

Take a look. If the fuses are good and you have power to the coil and you know the coil is good, then the module is suspect.

Let me know.

Joe

See pics below. Note. Fuses 228 and 229 are identified with the additional prefix 2, in the wiring diagram. In the fuse box, they are fuses 28 and 29. See last pic

I had to cut each schematic in half to make them readable.

Hi,

If you have no spark, the CKP is good and the power supply is present, in most cases, that leaves the ECM.

However, haven't you already tried replacing it?

So, Audi discontinued my ECM for that car but with the manual ECM I do have spark. I plug in my old ECM I have no spark, so that leaves me to believe I need one programed to my car.

Hi,

That is correct. If the module is replaced, it requires coding/relearning specific to your vehicle. If I recall, (please know this is from memory) once they are coded, I don't think they can be recoded to a different car. You will need to check on that.

Also, you may be able to find a remanufactured one online.

If you look below, I attached the coding directions.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

Sounds good. I've gotten them online in the past (remanufactured) plug and play. They always have worked.

Let me know how things turn out.
