I've replaced fuel pump, MAP sensor, crank sensor, spark plugs, coil and battery. What should I do? I got it to crank and start for 5 to 10 minutes, but wont start up at all now.

What did you do to get it started and was it idling and then just cut off?

Was there a part that you replaced that got it started?

We need to do two things. First, use starter fluid in the intake and see if fires. Then pull a plug and reconnect it to the plug wire and hold it against the block when craning to see if you have spark.

You are welcome. So did you have spark and I assume it did not start on starter fluid? If you have spark and fuel then we need to verify compression.

Was anything done to this vehicle or did it just stop running one day?

A guy was suppose to put in radio and speaker and didn't do it right. After that my battery doesn't stay charged. So I replace it and and it drained that battery too. I replace a good bit of the electrical stuff and my battery keeps dying. Got it to start up a few days ago and it ran for 10 minutes then stopped. Cranks but wont start up.

So all this started after they tried to install the radio? We need to find out what wiring they tapped into because until we can eliminate what they did then we will be chasing our tails.

Yes, and it's drained battery until the point my car wont start. Someone told me it might be the alternator, I do not know much about cars, but I really need to get this figured out. Thanks again for reply.

It could be the alternator not charging the battery but it could also be something not "going to sleep." Basically there is a system that is constantly on and it drains the battery. If this person tapped into the wrong thing or didn't wire something properly then it could be the issue. Think of it like your cell phone screen never turns off when you are not using the phone. The battery would last maybe a few hours. Instead it turns off and "goes to sleep" and it allows the battery to last days.

I attached the alternator test and how to rebuild it but it may be easier to have a parts store check the battery and alternator output. Most do this for free. If they are okay then we need to test for an ignition off draw or a parasitic draw.

If you have no signal coming from the CKP sensor then the ECM is not getting the engine position and will not know when to fire the plugs.

You need to test the sensor and I suspect you will find that this is an open and needs replacement.
