The reverse lights are not coming on. I want to try cleaning/troubleshooting the switch before replacing. I just cannot find it.

Hello,

The revers light switch is on the transmission switch item #16 in red circle. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

How do I replace the switch that puts the back up lights on? I already replaced the bulbs and checked the fuse, the harzards and all other lights work. I know it is the switch but don't know where it is located or how to change it. Thanks!

I have a 98 Nissan Sentra and the reverse lights just don't come on when the car is in reverse. Fuses are all good. Not sure if its related, but the dashboard lights and the lights behind the thermostat don't illuminate either. Those aren't a big deal, but I need the reverse lights working to pass inspection. I was told it might be a relay, but I'm not sure which relay it would be or where it might be located. Any other thoughts on what it might be?

Ok this circuit is very simple. It is fuse 12 a 10amp then to the back up light switch on the transmission and to the lights thats it. So I would check the back up light switch. So with multi meter you can check the yellow wire to the switch for power when in reverse the green wire should then send power to the lights. Let me know what you find.

Where is the reverse light switch located?Since I've checked the bulbs and the fuse and they're ok, so it leaves me with the switch but I can't find it.

It's on the side of the transaxle. It has a two-wire plug. The wires are yellow and green / white. Unplug the connector, then use a jumper wire or stretched-out paper clip to connect the two terminals while the ignition switch is on. If the backup lights turn on, suspect that switch.
