do i need to replace coil packs when replacing spark plugs and what is the difficulty level? thank you

You do not need to replace coil packs. The left side is just a little confined with the hoses and such. Some of that stuff is easy to break, and not repairable, possibly even discontinued from GM. One thing you might find on your journey is oil in the spark plug wells due to leaking cam cover gaskets.
