Running fine, suddenly died. Was going 60 MPH. No warnings. Electrical seemed ok. Mechanic diagnosed fuel pump croaked. That's what it seemd like to me. $758 installed. It's a modular unit. Ouch. They still couldn't get it to run correctly. Found ceramic resistor under windshield washer tank totally corroded & broken in two. Showed it to me. Regulates power to fuel pump. Less when idle, more when supercharger kicks. They said when it broke it caused the fuel pump to go into hyper-drive and killed it either by sucking gunk right through the filter or just over RPM-ing the pump. Makes sense to me, but what do I know. Due to logistics, work was done at local Ford dealership. What do we think?

What I think is %$#@*%$#$@@. That is the biggest load of garbage I have ever heard. The resister going bad, (which is very common) did not cause the pump to go crazy and die. They are saying that to justify replacing the pump that had no problems. Can someone say misdiagnosis.
