1994 Regal Antenna Issue

I have a '94 Buick Regal, with a power antenna, and a few days ago it just stopped retracting. When I turn the car or the radio on/off, I hear the antenna motor go off, but the antenna stays fully extended and won't move. How would I go about finding out what exactly broke, and how to replace it?

The controll cable inside the antenna broke.
It is generally easier to find an after market power antenna (or manual one if you prefer) and install that, rather than trying to repair one. They are generally inexpensive, and are not complicated at all to install.
