1980 Buick Regal cranks wont start

i have a 1980 buick regal it had a motor swap to a chevrolet 350 I had the car running and then my coil went bad I replaced it seemed to be alright after that. A few days ago I tried starting multiple times and it kept stalling out. The last time I tried to start it back fired extremely loud, I didnt touch it for 3 days went to start it and it just cranks and doesnt sound like it wants to fire. I checked the coil and couldnt touch it because it was so hot I relaced the coil today and it still seems to be heating up and only cranks I checked with a volt meter on the positive and negative side of the coil while ignition is on and they are both getting the same voltage of 12.4 volts. Any ideas of what my issue could be? Thanks ill add that it has a mallory breakerless distributor and I went from a mallory coil wired through a ballast resistor to an msd blaster 3 coil wired without a resistor.

Check to see if you are getting fuel, then pull the coil wire and see if it gets spark, then pull a plug wire and see if it gets spark there. If you are getting fuel and spark while cranking it could be a timing chain. It also may be a broken rotor or something wrong with the cap. If you aren' tgetting spark from coil, see if mallory has something on line to check if their distributor is working or not.
