My 1997 Buick Park Avenue starts fine all year until the hot summer days begin. When running erronds on hot days the car will not start after it gets hot. After a cool down period of 15 to 30 minutes it will start again. A new battery made no difference, and it is charging OK. Do I replace the starter next?

Are you saying it cranks good, but won't start, or it won't even crank? Do you think your security system might be causing an issue? The purple wire at the starter solenoid should be hot with the key in the crank position, is it? When fooling around with starter, make sure the tranny is in park or neutral, e-brake is set. Some of the national brand autostores will test the starter for you, if you take it to them.
