Transmission shifts great most of the time. But sometimes after I start car(once from 5 times or so) it drives jerky, shifts poorly especially 2nd to 3rd gear, sometimes all gears or just 1st to 2nd. But the thing is when I drive myself in manual mode, it shifts great and I can't even feel shifts. What could be tha reason? Also when I am stop light with the gear on D or R, and foot on brake it will vibrate in the car(but not all the time, 4 out of 5 stops). Please help.

A software upgrade might be the solution and I believe there is a bulletin from BMW on the subject, have you a reputable dealer in mind?

I think we have a delaer near by, but they are rip-off, they will want to change transmission with out probablt looking at it :-) Is there any way I can do reset of transmission adaptable values?

The repairs to your X5 can be performed by anyone with the factory software, try calling independent BMW repair shops and ask if they have the GT-1 from BMW to do coding and programming.

IS GT1 a good thing to own? As I planned to buy it long tiem ago? Will it coen with updated software for my transmission? Will it be hard to update transmission software myself?

List price for a GT-1 if you could find one is 15k so it is out of the realm of most car buyers.

So clone not the same thing? They kind of saying that it is original BMW used computer whcih they use at dealerships
