My 4age twin cam motor is burning black smoke when idle, plus smoking black when I rev it. The car starts to bust at the exhaust then smokes more and smells of petrol then misfire. I have done complete cylinder head plus new set of rings and bearings but same problem. I changed the throttle body as well. It over fuels and burns black smoke. The car jerks when I am driving and loses power throwing flames at the tailpipe end. Need help with getting it fixed up or possible reasons is to why it is doing this.

Hi Shadeel,

Go over this guide. It is really good at laying out the possible causes of your issue.

We need to start with pulling codes because that will tell us if we have a sensor issue or wiring problem with one of these systems.

Let me know what codes you have if any and we can go from there. Thanks

Your vehicle is an OBD 1 vehicle. You will have a diagnostic connector under the hood and you will need to jump two terminals.

Here is a pretty good video on how to do it:

Since you didn't mention a check engine light I am going to assume you don't have any codes however, we need to check because it will save some time in diagnostic.

If you have no codes, pull the plugs out and take a picture of the electrode ends and post them to this site. The we need to check fuel pressure while running.

Let me know about the codes and send the pictures of the plugs and we can go from there. Thanks

Code 11 is normal operation which means there are no codes. Unless you show something different.

You need to read this guide and work through what it has you test including fuel pressure and EGR operation. Let me know if you need more info on how to do this.
