Anti theft light is blinking and car will not start

I have tried unplugging the battery and plugging it back, unlocking/locking it with the key.

If it is blinking the system is not reading the key as a valid one. Do you have a second key to try? The next step if the second key doesn't work then you will need to use a scan tool that can talk to the security system and determine if the problem is in the anti-theft module itself or if it isn't receiving the signal from the transponder key. Hopefully it is a bad key as the module is located behind the HVAC unit and requires most of the dash be removed to access it. The scan tool can show you what has failed.
