After recently changing the oil and checking for leaks I noticed a "ticking" sound coming from the bottom side of the engine. Could it be the water pump or oil pump? I have also noticed that the oil level is lower than what I put in last time, seems to loosing somewhere, but have not seen any signs of leaks in parking areas. I am I headed for a costly repair?

Its a metalic sound but not heavy. At first I thought it may have been the water pump, then I thought it may be coming from thr oil pan area.

Take a real long screwdriver or bar with a handle. Touch it to each component's housing and put your ear on the handle, using it as a stethescope. You'll hear where the roughness is and begin to isolate it.
