You do not understand that the compressor oil and the oil in the lines is separate. They do not intermix.

5.5 in the compressor. You will have some remaining in there. That is why I told you less since it is not new.

As far as the rest of the system, those figures are for when you replace the system with all new parts, that is what you would ad to the refrigerant when you charge it.

You are overthinking this situation.

Just drain the compressor and add the oil.

Sir thank you for your help, however other technicians says total oil capacity is the oil in the compressor and other parts as condenser, EVAP, drier lines. Please start to watch this video at 16:50.

I understand but the compressor has its own oil. The Freon system has its own.

If what they are saying is true, then you could add the oil in the Freon system and it will go to the compressor, which it does not.

You have a total in the compressor which is six ounces.

Then you have the rest of the system which is around five or so. The grand total is around eleven ounces, but the oil is not shared between the compressor and the Freon system.

Okay.

You need to add six ounces of oil. Use only Pag oil.

When you recovered the Freon, how much oil was removed? There should be very little if any.

Done. Low side 36 high side 225 outside temperature 87 degrees. However, when I took the coupler from the high side shredder valve I heard hissing it leaking. But when I put the cap on it quit. I checked with soupy water no leaking.
I guess I need to replace the shredder valve, I should replaced it? I know there is a tool to use without evacuate the AC. Can you tell me?

Okay, there is a tool for removal, but there is no tool to remove it with pressure in the system. You must recover the Freon to replace the valve.

It looks like a tire valve remover tool.

I got the tool I tried to tighten it but no success. However, when I put the cap on it it will not leak. Do you think the cap will hold the pressure? It is the high side one.

No, it will not. It is a dust cap not a pressure cap. It will blow it off eventually.

Thank you so much for your help. Are the low 36 psi and high 225 psi with outside temperature 90 F good?

Is it normal some oil stayed in the gauge hot hose?
before I disconnected the low side and high side couplers from the low and high side lines I purged the remaining Freon and oil from red hose to the blue hose like this guy did it in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIyuiNV-82s
Please start watching it at thirty minute mark.
Thanks

What he is saying is there is liquid Freon not oil in the system.

That is his way of doing it. I would not do it that way but it is okay. It is just another way of bleeding down the lines.

In my case it was Freon which went back to the system and oil which stayed in the red hose there is about 1/2 oz.

When did you add the oil? It should have been added before the Freon was installed.

Okay, good. I do not see any issue here at all.

As I stated way back, a little oil in the Freon system is normal.
