I have always taken my car for service to the dealership where I bought it. Yesterday I took it in for a routine oil change. After about 15 minutes, the service rep called me up front and told me the drain plug had snapped into. I have the extended warranty through Ford and he tells me I still have to pay the deductible for them to fix it. Am I wrong thinking this isn't right?

The first problem with this that jumps out at me is the fact that you always bring your car there for service so that would mean that that dealership is the only people that touch and service your car therefore if there the last ones to perform an oil change, they messed it up. We sometimes run into this problem at my job where we might find something broken but we can't prove that it wasn't us because we are the last ones to have worked on the car so we fix or replace what needs to be fixed or replaced. Granted as long as we were performing work in the area of the problem. If I perform an oil change and the customer returns claiming ever since my oil change, now I have a noise coming from the rear, that wouldn't fall into this category and the customer would be in the wrong at that time since it we didn't do anything to rear of the vehicle to cause it to start making noise with a routine oil change. I would complain that the dealership needs to pay for the parts and labor since they're the only ones to have worked on the vehicle.
