I recently went mud ridding and got stuck. The truck was leaning to the drivers side and water ran into fuel tank and truck went dead. We drained everything and finally got the truck stared with either it would only staying running with either. Then we noticed oil blowing back into air filter box. Any suggestions?

That means you may have caused some engine damage. Did you over rev the engine?Because this is a sign of compression blowing pass the rings forcing the oil up into the air filter.

Good evening,

The fact that water got into the system, it may have got into the injector pump and the injectors. If any water got into the cylinders, it cannot be compressed and most like damaged the piston rings.

That would explain the blow by into the air filter. Compression is coming back into the intake system.

Yes, replacing the engine is the answer. It would be a total loss if you pulled it down and tried to rebuild.

Sorry, no easy fix on this one.

Roy
