Anything is possible, but with no other details or information to go on, I suspect you're in for disappointment and wasted time. Working with refrigerant is really dangerous, and modifying the system is a bad idea. Copper tubing may not withstand the pressures in the high side of the system. You may not be able to find matching fittings and connectors. You wouldn't accept a mechanic cobbling your system. Do it right and buy the correct hose assembly.
If you understand the need to evacuate the system and check for leaks, and you have the right equipment, be sure to wear gloves, safety glasses, and a face shield. All professionals wear those safety items when working with refrigerant.
