My Intrepid stop running as I was driving, the engine shut off and the car began to coast. When I tried to restart, it makes a ticking noise but doesn't even sound like its trying to start. Just the ticking noise. The lights come on but when I try to start, just the ticking noise. I had the transmission rebuilt a year ago, battery hasn't been changed since I bought it-used in 04

If you only hear a ticking, check to make sure the battery is fully charged. If it is, have the starter check. However, since it died while you were driving, something tells me either the battery is bad or the alternator allowed the battery to go dead. Both the battery and the alternator can be check for free at most parts stores.
