I own a 2004 Chevrolet Impala LS 3.8 liter sedan and am having trouble with the "Traction Active" feature on the automobile. It occasionally engages when I pull away from my house in the morning after the car has sat all night. It is momentary and stops after I leave off the throtle slightly and step back down slightly on the throtle. Also after driving at highway speeds from work to home[approx.1/2 hour or more] there is a noise that is coming from the front end of the car when I make a left turn onto my street[slight uphill grade to the house]that goes away after I straighten out.I, ve checked fluid levels, for loose parts and connections, tire rub, ect..

You need to have the computer scanned to identify why the check engine light is coming on. It is most likely a wheel sensor that is causing the problem. Most part stores will check it for free.

As far as the noise, if it only clicks when you use the turn, check the CV joints.
