You may have blown the engine, see if it will turn over by hand if it does then reset security system check fluids and then have battery checked for condition including load test This guide will help us fix it

Please run down this guide and report back.

Welcome to 2CarPros.

When you say it won't do anything, do you mean the starter won't engage? Have you checked to see if there is power to the starter when the key is in the start position? Also, have you checked the starter relay or tried a different key?

To bypass the security, turn the key to the run position and allow it to sit for about 10 minutes. The security light should turn off and the vehicle should start if that is the cause.

If that isn't, then check to see if there is power to the starter. You will need a helper for this. Here is a link showing what to do:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/starter-not-working-repair

Also, check the starter relay in the under hood relay box. See the attached picture.

Let me know what you find.

Joe

We have changed the starter and the relay. The fuse box had mouse nest in it and a couple of bad wires. Fixed them, but the box stinks with urine. Today we changed the cables to a top post and it cranked over for a second then nothing. Redid cables making sure for good connection. It turned over and the same again. Put booster on battery it done the same thing. Tried security went through it a couple of times same thing. Then the last time nothing. Tried jump starting and will not turn over. It's a new battery we put it in my C10 it starts.

Welcome back:

I hate to say it, but at this point, it becomes a wire tracing process. Basically, since you are not getting power to the starter, start there and trace wires back to see if you can find where the power loss occurs. What has me a bit confused is the fact that it cranked for a second when you disconnected and reconnected the battery. Are you sure the wire between the battery and the power distribution box is good? It seems like you moved the main wire from the battery, which may have allowed for a weak connection again.

I attached 3 pictures for you to look through. It is the entire starting system schematic. I had to break it into 3 pictures for it to be readable to you. I did, however, overlap them so you could follow it.

Start at the battery and follow the power supply to the fuse box and see if there is an issue.

Let me know what you find.

Welcome back:

If you have no power to the fuse box, check to make sure the pins are not corroded or damaged. Also, you should have power there. You may have damage on the back side of the fuse box/wiring that can't be seen. That is the next step. Make sure the battery is disconnected before doing this.

Let me know what you find.

Welcome back:

Was it a back fire you heard or did it seem electrical?

Also, were you able to inspect the fuse box for issues?

Let me know,
Joe

First thing to check is the park/nuetral switch at the transmission. It could be out of adjustment, and it's not that hard to check. It's on the left side of the transmission and 2 bolts secure it.

Place the shift lever in the neutral (N) position. Regardless of what the display says put the shift at neutral.
With an assistant in the drivers seat, raise and suitably support the vehicle.
Loosen the PNP switch bolts.
With the vehicle in neutral (N), rotate the PNP switch while the assistant attempts to start the engine.
Following a successful start, turn the engine off. Tighten the PNP switch bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. Lbs.).
Lower the vehicle.
Check the PNP switch for proper operation. The engine must start in the park (P) or neutral (N) positions only.
Replace the PNP switch if proper operation can not be achieved.

There is a post on the fuse box that has nothing connected to it. Is it a ground? Maybe it would be the one closest to the fire wall.

Welcome back:

If it is in the fuse box, chances are it is not a ground. Can you upload a picture for me to see it?

Truck will not start, gear indicator light sometimes stuck in 3rd and is in park. If you play around it will start after 15 minutes of playing around. Even if it is in park and the indicator is shows it is in park it will not start.

Sounds like your transmission range switch is faulty. This electronically tells computer which gear you are in. So if it sees you are in 3rd gear it wont let the starter engage. Hope this helps
