I have a 2002 Chev, Suburban 1500 4wd and the power steering intermitently fails then comes back. I don't have hydroboost. I have replaced all the hoses, pump(several GM reman.), steering gear, and have flushed the entire system. There are no other replacable parts and it still fails intermitently at lower speeds (around town). Any answers would be appreciated.

I can't remember the exact name of the part. However, in the steering column is an electrical device that makes the steering speed sensitive. It can cause that type of problem or do the opposite (too easy to turn). Ask your mechanic about that possibility and let me know what you find.
