2002 chevy suburban. lights keep intermittenly go on and off when adjusting steering wheel. How do you repair this? believe it must be a broken wire in steering column. How does the steering column shroud come off?

You either have a broken wire or the switch is bad. You need to remove the steering wheel to access the wiring and the switch. Disconnect the battery 30 minutes prior to working around the airbag. You will need a steering wheel puller and other general tools to remove the wheel and shroud.
