I continue to pull missfire codes on random cylinders after replacing head gaskets and timing chain. Car runs good,(rough idle) just random codes.

How would I check and set the enectronic componit that is in place of the conventional distributr. ( i did move it during repairs)

If it has a rough idle, that is most likely where the misfire is being detected. If it runs good off an idle, check for vacuum leaks. Also, check the idle air control valve (IAC). As far as ignition timing, once the chain is on correctly, the computer determines the timing via the cam and crank sensors.
