The timing belt broke in my 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan. Is there anything I can do or is the engine shot?

Here is the thing. If the engine is a single overhead cam engine (12 valve), just replace the timing belt and it should be fine. If it is the duel overhead cam engine or the 24 valve OHC engine, it is an interference engine which means the pistons most likely hit the valves causing major damage. At that point, I would just look for another engine.
