I have the car listed above that decides it wants to leak oil while idle and while it's shut off. It leaks 4 quarts in a day and a half. I took it to a mechanic recently and they told me I may need to get a new motor. This Friday, I'm going to a different mechanic to see if they get the same diagnosis, which in turn I also want to steer them in the right direction. I've read that the most common leak is the oil pump seal. The leak is located on the passenger side where the timing belt is and I believe the block to the engine is cracked?

The timing belt is the only thing that would make sense on that side of the engine however, that is even a little much for a timing cover. So a crack in the block that goes into the oil galley would make more sense.

I would suggest getting an oil dye and adding it to the oil then run the engine until you see the oil come out then you should be able to trace the dye to narrow the search area. Or getting a second opinion is never a bad idea before you go with the engine.
