My girl friend has a 1999 Dodge Intrepid, 2.7 liter V-6, with approximately 95K miles. About 18 months ago it began to intermittently shut off when slowing to stop. Normally it would immediately restart; however, occasionally it could take 10 to 15 minutes. About 10 days ago it stopped and would not restart. The mechanic working on it, the next morning, had no trouble starting the car. His diagnostics showed numerous problems and so far has changed: the Cooling Fan Motor, Crankshaft Sensor, Camshaft Sensor, Ignition Coil, and the Engine Control Module.
$1800 later, she has it back and now it shuts off, when slowing, with greater frequency than before it was repaired. Additionally, the Check Engine Light comes on and will remain on through 3 or 4 complete cycles (start, run, and shutdown) and intermittently will idle quite roughly. Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
