LJCHAPMAN,

Let's start a fresh new question.

Makes it easier for others with the same or similar issues when they use "search".

Ask for me if you want to, I'm pretty good with 258s in CJs.

Well, I now have 150,000 miles. I have replaced the fuel injectors, ignition coil, crank position sensor, cam position sensor, throttle position sensor, both O2 sensors, two EMC's, new exhaust header, fuel pump, and I am sure lots of other bits. Acceleration is better but the motor is still a dog. It wont go above 75. Never gets into 5th gear (axle ratios - I know). Generally speaking, I have never made a significant step change in performance. I suspect the tires are killing what power the engine every had.

It sounds like you have a clogged catalytic converter. To be sure here is a guide to help confirm the issue:

Please run down this guide and report back.
