1990 YJ, 6-cyl. Made 2 hour trip to beach, hot weather 98-100, about 1 1/2 hours into trip engine lost accelerating power going uphill, then when I got off interstate, sputtered and stalled. Sit for 10 - 15 minutes starts and runs okay while at the beach for a week, till trip home, same scenario. Now, running in hot weather, will sputter now and then but not all-out stall. I'm stumped in South Carolina. Any suggestions? (Don't say "move", too nice here!)

Check your fuel pressure with a mechanical gauge, preferably when this occurs. There is generally a service port in the fuel rail that the gauge will screw into.

Another possibility is the ignition module, classic examples are that they will get hot and fail, but if left to cool they will work for a while.
Most autoparts stores will check the ign. Module for free.

I have the same problem in my 1994 Jeep Wrangler. I have the 4.0l. I have replaced the (coil, plugs, wires, cap, rotor button, and fuel filter) I have still had no luck.
