Car wont stay started

I have a ford escort that wont stay cranked. I dies even after you have recieved a jump from another car. The battery is new and was checked at the store it was bought from.

Are you able to keep the engine running if you press on the gas? Have you had the alternator checked? Finally, is the battery going dead the requires you to have it jumped started?

Let me know. Also, let me know what year it is.

Will it stay running with the jumpper cables left hooked up? If so, have you had the alternator checked.
