Sounds like you might have a fuel pump that isn't starting up. GM pumps will often fail while you're driving, but Chrysler pumps hardly ever to that. They will stay running once they're started. Next time the engine doesn't start, turn the ignition switch off, wait at least five seconds, then turn the switch back to "run" and listen for the hum of the pump for one second. If necessary, listen by the tank while a helper turns the switch on. Remember, it will only run for one second, then it will turn off. It is supposed to run again during engine cranking.
