I would like to switch out my 1994 3.0 liter motor for a newer motor. What I mean is I would like to put a 1998 or new motor in my car. I know that 93 and 94 motors are the worst for head gasket problems, and I just found out that I have a blown head gasket. So instead of taking it apart to try and fix it, I would like to just put a new complete motor in it but would like it from a different year so I know its a better question. So will that work? Will everything hook up together and be able to run?

In this you'll have to match up motor/transmission mounts to make sure it will fit as well as exaust. Then all your sensors from teh old engine would have to be placed on the new motor. However I would NOT reccomend this as the computer systems are different, yours being an OBD1 and the newer motor being an OBD2 system. With the latest stuff in technology by now a new fix has come out to stop the head gasket problem with the older motor and I would reccomend you doing that instead.
