Sir,

I have a 1993 S-10 4X4 4.3L, Z vin code. Engine starts well, runs very well cold and also when fully warmed up. No hesitation or miss with normal driving or under heavy load. But, after running when temp is normal, and engine is shut off for more than 5 min, and you start up again, it will hardly run for a minute or so, then it will smooth out and never miss a lick untill it is off for a 5 min period. If 30 minutes or so passes, it starts and runs great.

Fuel pump and carrier and pump filter new 6 months ago.
Recently changed fuel filter in line. Put in new plugs, replaced plug wires, Distributor cap, rotor, ignition igniter unit, and pickup coil. Also put on new ignition coil. Seems to run even smoother and better and quicker throttle response, but still will not run hardly at all when stopped for 5 minutes and restarted. Appears to be heat related, but none of the items changed helped. Please advise. It's breaking my heart and pocket book!

Additional information: NO "Check Engine Soon" diagnostic codes are set. The only code acknowledged is code "12" saying that the system is functioning normal when PCM is checked. Mailman#1

YOU NEED TO PREFORM A FUEL PUMP LEAK DOWN TEST. PUT A PRESSURE GAUGE ON. THEN TURN THE KEY ON AND OFF AND MAKE SURE THE FUEL PRESSURE HOLDS IN PLACE. YOULL ALSO NEED TO KNOW THE FUEL PRESSURE WHEN ITS ACTING UP.

Need to check the IAC. This unit controls air fule. If the IAC is stuck it will keep the motor from running and will cause a stall condition.
