It sounds like you might have worn igniting components.
Possibly worn spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor etc.
Inspect the spark plugs for ware and gap. It should be gapped at 0.039-0.043 in. (1.0-1.1 mm).
Check for carbon build up on the plugs, also look for oil fouling. Dirty plugs will be inefficient to start the vehicle.
If it has not been done in a while, might be a good idea to do a tune up.
A basic tune includes; changing the oil, air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor. Also cleaning out the throttle body.
