My 5.0 ltr motor is constantly overheating. It has been so much that I only ran water in the system for a long time due to limited funds. Just recently, (this week), I have replaced every part that I know of in the cooling system, ( ie. Radiator, water pump, upper and lower hoses, thermostat, rad. Cap, etc.). After all that, it still seems to not be working right. When antifreeze and water applied, and the motor is smoking alot, (white smoke), and the motor seems to be having a hard time staying running while at idle

I think I may have bad news. If you are seeing white smoke, that indicates to me that coolant is getting into the combustion chamber and being burned. That is usually the result of a bad head gasket or intake gasket. And yes, that would cause the overheating.

How can I tell which gasket (Intake or Head)? As I said earlier, my funds are limited, so, I'm trying to decide which road I need to go down to fix this problem. I really appreciate you guys for helping me with troubleshooting my problem. Again, Thank you.

One way to test for a bad head gasket would be to check engine compression. A bad gasket should cause low compression in one or more cylinders.
