When I hook up my battery cable I hear a click and a few secons later I notice the ficd is bubblleing out the end and as I try to start motor it hammerlocks and im thinking starter is bad, but a buddy says pull the plugs and when I did and turned over the moter, gas went spewing out the holes everywhere. Now this is on a 86 nisson truck with a 2.4 ie tbi pain in the ass, now heres the story, the truck was hesitating alot and was checkin thing out and disconnected the batt to do some tests, when I hooked back up I saw smoke comming from the tbi and a loud click just before thAT I pulled the cable and it stopped , as I put it bACK ON I SAW A SPARK JUMP TO THE POST, A CLICK AND MORE SMOKE AND THIS TIME FLAME. So I yanked it again and started checking thing out. I pulled the injector cover to find one of the injectors had fried bad. So I went to the wrecking yard and pulled a tbi unit off of a 86 truck but it had a v-6 in it. I looked at the units and the only diff was it had an extra vac port in back and it had an 8 pin hook up as mine had a 6 pin hookup . Ilooked at the injector wires and they were the same coulors as mine but the othe two pins were for a idle up sensor that mine didnt have, so I took it home and put it on AFTER DOING SOME DOUBLE CHECKING ON THE TRUCK. After it was on and with all the vacum ports unplugged and open , I started the truck, and it ran, not good but it ran so I shut it down and went to assemble the air breather and vac lines. Now on the sticker it say one way but from what I recall it was totaly differant so I hooked up like sticker said and the tryed to deal with the 5 vac lines that go on the cleaner I had marked them before I touched anything but between the rain, hard rain and the sunshine it faded the tags. And if it was a new truck all the hoses would have still had there color code on them, but I did the best I could and hooked them up and went to start motor, it cranked about ten times and got slower and slower and stopped dead, nothing but a click from the starter, thats when my friend says pull the plug, and wow what a shock when that gas blew out, still not sure why but pulled plugs and were soaking wet of course, so I spun moter to get rid of the extra gas and dryed and regapped plugs and reinstalled, I thought that I must have dumped extra fuel in when I removeed old unit. So put it together and about ten turns it locks again, pull the plugs and more gas comes out, now first time it was from holes 1n2, this time from 3n4 and last time it was all 4 holes. Now I ****ting bricks, not knowing hat to do, thats why im here , HELP ANYBODY . Im not even sure I know autos even though ive been on them for 30 years, but this has me by the short hairs, does anyone have a right vac diagram to send me and can you help me fix my truck. I bought it for my girlfriend and its been a pain ever since, oh ya, just before all this it PASSED smog but we were told the mass air sensor was bad and that it would cost over 400.00 bucks to fix it and cure the hesitation and stummbleing. But if you drove like a normal person and didnt romp on it it ran perfect it was only when you put a foot in it that it would buck and choke and all, as soon as you backed out of it , it ran fine. And as long as you were gentle on the gas, the thing has lots of balls but up to that point, the thing ran great for about three days after the smogging then thats when the clicking and smoke showed up. After being told about the maf thingy I went and bought some maf cleaner and it didnt do anything but cost me 4 bucks I thought its worth a try, so as it goes I went and got another unit and its been a total failure, what is going on here m, why all the gas in the cyl. And now, ofcourse it wont run with all the gas running in at will. Any info would be deeply thanked by our lord and myself. Thank you for your time, bobeduxbury@aol. Com
