1984 Chevrolet Truck Stalls when put in gaer

My brother has a 84 k10 350 4speed four wheel drive it idles fine but put in gear it dies don't know if its the cluch or wut it is tyed checkin the sparked plugs n wires they r good the Gear oil in trans is good so don't know what else 2 check need help

What does it idle at without being in gear it may be tolow or it sounds like a carb overhaul

It idles at 800 but we dove it n it's shakes n backfires n shutoff it didn't make it 200 feet

Check compression, you may have a bad valve it must be within 20% of each cylinder. Could also be a bent pushrod/worn lifter/ rocker arm

Thanks but we pushed the driveshaft back into the yoke n it runs its weird but it worked
