Engine Mechanical problem
1995 Chevy Truck V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

ok so my truck is a 95 chevy silverado 1500 z71
its been acting up it dies when it idles and dies right after it starts. I just recently replaced the transmission because the reverse went out. I also replace the fuel pump fuel filter spark plugs disturber and cap oil filter and fuel relay timing chain and I think thats it. I was told each time that putting a new one of these one would fix my problem but it hasnt. Any insight into what could be wrong. Oh and after I just changed the fuel filter it wont run at all my grandpa primed it with some gas in the carburetor and it started but as soons as he let off the gas it died and wouldnt start again

If it will start when you prime it with gas, then the fuel pump isn't getting fuel to the engine. Have you replaced the fuel pump relay? Can you hear the pump run when you first turn the key on? Also, did you check to make sure the fuel pump is getting power when you replaced it?

Yes I replaced the furl pump relay. When I turn the key the fuel pump turns on you can hear it kick in. What would be the cause of the fuel pump not getting fuel to the engine?

Ok, we need to check a couple things. First, you need to check fuel pressure at the fuel rail. Here is the how to for checking it.

Once we determine that the fuel pressure is within spec, then we have to check the injectors.

Let me know what you find.
