My disabled brothers truck listed above was sitting outside his apartment for a few weeks, we decided to take it to go out to dinner and the battery was drained, and I mean completely drained, not, door locks did not work, nothing. Thinking maybe he left a dome light on I tried to charge battery, and after 2 days, it would not take a charge. so, i bought a new battery for it thinking the problem would be solved. I went to start it, nothing, not even dashboard lights, but now door locks work, but only drivers side headlight nice and bright, but no left headlight, and just the right flashers, nothing for left side. Dome lights work now, but not when you open the door, just weird stuff. Checked fuse boxes, both inside cab, and under hood, all were good. Checked Mega fuse box with voltage meter, all were good. I have no clue what it could be, I have been trouble shooting with YouTube video's but cannot find anything with similar issues? What do you think?

It sounds like the system may need a hard reboot or the BCM has gone out. We should run a CAN scan which is easy to do. You can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) which will work on most cars from Amazon.

Here is a video to show you how:

A bad BCM can drain the battery as well. Here is how to change it out in case a code is stored for it. Check out the images (below). Let us know how it goes, you can get a preprogrammed unit by searching Google or Ebay, have your VIN number ready.
