First, it could be either a fuel related issue or an ignition spark issue. First, take a look through this link and see if it helps.

If nothing in that link helps, what we need to do is pull diagnostic trouble codes. Now your vehicle has an OBD1 system. You don't need a scanner to get codes from it. All you need is a short jumper wire or even a paper clip. Follow the next link and let me know what codes you find.

I suspect it is going to be ignition related. Most likely, we are going to find there is no spark to the ignition indicating a crankshaft position sensor, but rather than just replacing parts, the code or codes will help direct us.
