First, since nothing is happening check to make sure the starter relay is good. The relay is in the vehicle under the dash on the driver's side. I attached a picture of it. Simply switch the relay with another one from the relay box that has the same part number and see if it works.
If you find the relay is good, you need to check if there is power to the starter solenoid. You will need a helper for this and a volt meter. On the starter, there are two wires. One is much larger than the other. The larger one comes right from the battery and is always hot, so be careful not to short it. The smaller wire is the solenoid wire and only gets power when the key is in the start position. Using a volt meter or even a test light, have a helper turn the key to the start position while you check if there is power to the smaller wire. If there is, replace the starter.
