Two days ago it was intermiteant a couple of times but then started right up. Now it won't click or dim the gauges or anything. I tested the clutch safety switch and it works. Any suggestions on what is next? It seams the problem is in the key switch.

Hi,

First, we need to determine if the starter is getting power. There should be constant 12v to the larger wire from the battery. There is a smaller yellow wire that connects to the starter that gets 12v only when the key is in the start position. That is what we need to check, so you will need a helper.

Here is a link that explains it. Try this and let me know the results. Also, I attached a portion of the wiring schematic below showing that the yellow wire comes from what is called the TIPM. That stands for totally integrated power module and it isn't uncommon for the small pins in them to break, corrode, and fail. So, lets start at the starter and see what you find.

Let me know what you find.
