Wont Start

My van won't start at all, not even any noise when I try and turn it over but I put a wire from the battery to the started and it turns over and starts great. I'm not sure where to start looking first. I don't have a lot of money to be bring it to a shop, so want to try doing it myself first.

Notice that I connected the wires back together with wide colored lines.
This should show you everything in the starting system
Locations and names of the components.
Let's check fuses and connections before you start buying stuff/insure your battery is good (take it to a auto parts store for free testing!)
