Won't shift out ta 1st and Pearl while when it acted up we could pull over take the key out and restart it and it would work again but.

I replace the PCM with one from a junk yard it was a 119a IMAX did exactly and it still wouldn't work the security system shut me out

It has to be programmed to the car with a pro style scanner. Until you do it won't work

Yep. Most vehicles built with a computer control system from the late 80's and up have some type of security information stored in the ECM. The newer the vehicle the more items are tied into the system. You cannot just swap the parts around as the security systems poll the various modules, any module that gives the wrong info will cause the system to shut down the vehicle.

Then you have the more modern modules that need to be programmed just to make them operate and they don't have anything to do with the security system.
