I had all my valve stems changed a month ago (long story short, metal caps seized on them) took it to a shop and had them replaced. They did a mount and balance on all 4 tires. After about 4 days my car starts to drive funny like my back end was jumpy, so feeling anxious I went to another shop and had they suggested to have 4 tire balances. Found out the previous shop didn't put on enough weights. Around 2.5oz each wheel. 2 days go by and my car steering wheel starts to vibrate when I go over 40mph. Went back to car shop and mechanic re did the job. My steering wheel stopped shaking but the car still feels jumpy or wobbly feeling from speeds of 30mph and 60mph. I had a passenger feel it also around 45mph because I drove them home from work. Felt like I was driving on a dirt road when it was a smooth road. Idk where to start to get more work done for it to stop feeling bouncy? Alignment (my car does not pull left or right) another balance, or something else.

Hi,

If it feels like a wobble, make sure the wheels are tight. Also, let me know if you hear any noise from the rear like a humming.

Next, when tire balance is an issue, you can often determine where the issue is coming from. If it is a front wheel, you will notice it most in the steering wheel. If it is a rear tire, you will notice it more in the seat and floor of the vehicle. Let me know where it is most prominent.

Also, there is a good chance they had to use stick-on weights to balance the wheels. If the wheel wasn't properly cleaned prior to installing the weight, it isn't uncommon for them to come off causing the balance to be wrong.

Let me know. Also, I feel it would be a good idea to go back to the place and have them check again.

Let me know.

Joe
