Welcome back:
Safely lift one of the front wheels from the ground about an inch. Just enough to you can spin it. Support the vehicle so it can't fall. Place your hands at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock on the tire and with effort, see if you can wiggle the tire/wheel back and forth. If you can, confirm the other wheel isn't moving the same, but it shouldn't if it is on the ground. If you find there is play, have a helper watch the tie rods for excessive movement.
Next, place your hands at 6 and 12 o'clock. And with effort, see if there is movement in the ball joints. Again, if there is, have a helper watch while you do it to see where the movement is happening.
I attached 3 pictures. The first one shows a outer tie rod. I highlighted it. On the opposite side, is an inner tie rod that is under the boot. You can't see if, but you will be able to tell if there is movement there. Each side of the vehicle has both and inner and outer. They said both inner need replaced and one outer. Note, in picture 2, the outer tie rod is attached to the steering knuckle. That is where you will watch it for play.
In picture 3 I highlighted the ball joint and on the other end are where the control arm bushings are. They said the control arm needs replaced. Check for play in the ball joint and you may need to get a pry bar to put pressure on the control arm to check for play in the bushings.
Let me know if this helps and what you find.
Joe
