I just replaced the water pump and I am putting everything back together and I cannot get the belt to go back on. It is the same belt that was on there when I started so it has got me baffled that it will not just slide right back on. Any suggestions are welcome.

If you mean the water pump belt itself, you need to loosen the tensioner (part 3) enough the the belt goes back on, then tighten it back up so the belt deflects no more than 1/4" between the tensioner and the pump drive (lowest) pulley. Bolt torque on the tensioner bolt is 89 INCH pounds. >NOT FOOT POUNDS
