Ok, I did test the black/yellow wire and my test lamp lit up so I have power. What next?

Also, when I turn the key to on (without trying to start it) I get 6 beeps and I notice that there is a light on the dash that shows if a door or trunk is open and all of them stay lit like they are all open when they are all closed.

Another thing is I cannot put the car in Neutral unless I use the manual overide.

Hi HRJ77,

Those are the safety indicators and if the gear shift cannot be shifted, check for a blown fuse underdash on driver side No 9. (7.5 A). Your brake lights should be malfunctioning at this moment as well.

This might not be related to the engine not starting and if the No 9 (7.5 A) fuse is not blown, you need to check for bad or contaminated wire connections.

With power available at the distributor and cranking doesn't provide any sparks, the ignition coil or ICM is faulty.

You are correct, the brake light is on as well, but I have gone through and checked #9 (and all the others), but they are good. I also tried putting in a new main relay assembly, but no change. I am very frustrated at this point.
Any way to determine which one is bad or should I just buy both and see what happens. (I need to get this up and running for my parents).
Please know my frustration is with the car and not you.I really do appreciate your help! I can normally fix the problem, but am weak when it comes to electronic components and testing them. I still have a lot to learn, but would like to gain knowledge and experience in this area.

One other thing I forgot to mention. The "Check Engine Light" never comes on when I turn the ignition to on. I read somewhere that that may mean problems with the ECU?

Hi HRJ77,

Sorry for the late reply.

When the CEL does not show for 2 seconds after ignition switch is turned on, it could be the ECM is out. Check the power supply first, especially to the main relay.

The 6 beeps you mentioned earlier could be due to the multiplex system malfunction. The driver door is not able to receive signals from the other units but the Multiplex SCS has to be bridged to get it into self diagnosis mode. Check fuse under dash on passenger side #13 (7.5 A)

I would suspect a crank sensor as well if you were having these issues before the distributor replacement. If your not getting spark or injector pulse when cranking.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

If it started while you were working on it, something must be loose. You mentioned that it has spark and fuel. The next thing to check is if the fuel is getting into the engine via the injectors. Here is a link that describes how to check injectors. Try this too. See if the engine will start for a few seconds using starting fluid. Let me know the results of that.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-test-a-fuel-injector

Do that and let me know the outcome.

Take care,
Joe

Do me a favor. Make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight. If you lose connection, it will indicate all monitors are not ready. Make sure there are no loose wires from the ground to the engine block.

Let me know what you find.

If it has spark and fuel, it should run unless the timing is out or the compression is low. Have you checked timing? If you never replaced the belt, it may have stripped.

Check that and let me know what you find.

Do you know if the car has an immobilizer or not? It should be a little green key on the cluster. What is that key doing when you try and start it? Have you tried testing for fuel and spark as well?

Hi benjaminvillegas,

Thank you for the donation.

Your question is quite confusing and I am not sure if I understand it correctly.

You have overheated the engine and that could be the reason it is not starting. Get a compression test done to see if you have enough compression to start the engine.

The second part seems to indicate that there are no power supply. Check the battery terminals and ground connections at the transmission to see if they are good. Check the main fuses to see if any is blown.

Hi I have a problem with my accord copue V6.

After the overhot the machine, I check the sparks and this have a water and the oil have a water.

I change the sheet seal to the head (i don't know the name of this parts) my car have a 2 head, the head have the valve ( 12 valve each head).

I tighten the screw with a torquimeter. I change the oil, cool regriferant, sparks and filter air.

All the replace parts buy it in original honda distribuitor.

The starter cranks normally, but the engine won't start. I check the sparks and smell a gas and have a little gas on this.

I don't know if after the overhot the computer have a security system to don't star the machine to protect her, and if I have to reset this protection.

I chehk the autoscan and in the panel the indicator MIL ( check engine ) don't flash, the only ligth with flash is the ABS indicator.

Before I do the change of the sheet seal, I put a mark on all cables to put in the original place after the job.

Please Help me.

Thanks!

Did you do the job yourself?

Was the timing belt correctly done?

Have you checked the compression?

Do you have ignition sparks at the plugs?
