The alternator is tightly situated in the VW Jetta TDi - and was a bit difficult to remove. However, it is even more challenging to re-install the reman alternator. I have used hours to try to "slide" it into the bracket, but to no avail. What is the key to getting the alternator into its bracket and lined up again? Thanks!

there is a pushing on the alternator at the bottom that you will need to push back, a pair of pliers will usually do the job.
