1999 Volkswagen Passat lacking in power

Iv a passat 1.8turbo APU engine
It is lacking in power and slugish in reving and on the code reader its given me a code 17956 / P1548 Boost pressure sensor.

I had the same problem. It went into limp mode. Loss of power, I lost my power steering, everything power. They replaced the mass airflow sensor. It hasn't happened since, but I still have intermittent stalling. You can see my posting at:
